Growing up on a California ranch as the oldest of four children taught me the importance of family, fun, and responsibility. My memories include egg fights in the barn, swimming in cow troughs, lots of hard work, and building tree forts. High school was a mixture of band practice and football games. I met my future husband, Tom, in drama class; I believe some academics were thrown in somewhere. I devoured library books and still consider reading my favorite recreational activity.
After finishing L.I.F.E. Bible College, Tom and I returned to the Central Coast and have pastored Father’s House, a Foursquare Church in Atascadero, CA, ever since. Six children and a number of grandchildren later, we are still learning what it means to be spiritual people. It is my firm belief that God gives us a family so our dysfunctional attitudes will rise to the surface where he can address them. Then he blesses us with grandchildren as a way of sweetening the process.
When not writingor busy with church responsibilities, I enjoy my grandchildren, scrapbooking, gardening, and a café mocha from the Starbucks down the road.

Promotion and Retreat Coordinator—Carolyn Watson
Born and raised in Santa Maria, I am a wife, a mom of three wonderful girls who have blessed my husband and I so far with six amazing and fun grandchildren (the seventh is on her way!). Jim and I met in Santa Maria and then moved to Paso Robles in 1981. We began going to Atascadero Foursquare Church in 1987 the day after I was saved. Later that year we moved to Atascadero. We loved living in our little house on Seperado where we homeschooled our daughters and launched each of them into adult life. We now live in Creston.
My hobbies are many! I am a photographer and would love it if you checked out my website Carolyn V Photography. I love all sorts of arts and crafts, scrapbooking, sewing, making and selling cards and more at my Etsysite. I love to camp with Jim and our girls and their families. I also work at Santa Lucia Bank in Paso Robles.
Some of my duties for our Forever Girlfriends include some publicity things – I take care of the bulletin board and our blog. I am also the retreat coordinator. You’ll be hearing from me about signing up for our annual retreat at Camp Koinoinia. I’d love an opportunity to get to know you more … see you at church!

I was born in New York, moved to Los Osos when I was 2, and a
few years later settled in Atascadero. From 6th grade on I attended North County Christian School where I played sports and was a cheerleader. After High School I went to Cuesta College, and while there I met my future husband, James. We have been married 11 years and have three beautiful daughters ages 10, 6, and 4. I have been blessed (and challenged!) to be a stay at home mom for the last 6 years. Before that I mostly worked as a manager in several retail stores in the area.
As a family we love to go camping, play at the beach, go hiking and exploring, and just hang out with friends. My personal hobbies are running, doing all kind of puzzles, reading, and playing guitar. I am honored to serve on this team and look forward to getting to know many of our ladies better!
Heart Whisperers – Pati Gordon
Upon returning from Brazil, I met and married my husband, followed his career changes to St. Louis, Missouri, Palos Verdes, CA and Stamford, CT while having our four daughters. While in California, I had a major awakening with the Holy Spirit that changed my life. I have been on a quest to grow in the Lord and love Him deeper, serving and obeying His leading. There have been many ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ on my Path of Life…and the Lord has held me through them all. The latest big “down” was after 31+ years, my husband divorced me…( hearafter referred to as the “was-bund” ) and the six “ups” the grandchildren we share.
I have been asked how I got to Atascadero…I reply that I have ‘run away’…but really, I have ‘run-to’ a new life, a healing and knowing who I am. This is a promised adventure that whispers over and over in my heart that Jesus Christ is All, and has all that is needed. And I whisper back….yes!
If you need prayer or a listening ear, I am available.
